Everyone wants to get more time in their day to spend with family and do the things they enjoy, but creating all the content you need to grow your Young Living® business can eat up precious hours on the clock. Repurposing your content is a great way to get those priceless moments back. Here’s how.

Step one: create long-form content consistently.

Long-form content can be a blog, podcast, YouTube video, or even a training that you do in a Facebook group. It’s a lengthy piece of content that you can chop up into pieces. Typically this is the part that needs your unique personality and personalized touch the most. So if you’re going to focus on just one thing in your marketing, make it be 2-4 pieces of long-form content per month that you create consistently. No excuses ;) You’ll be amazed at how far it can go!

How to Start Your Repurposing Strategy

So now that you have the podcast or video, you’re going to have it transcribed as a blog. You can do this yourself or outsource it for a very low cost using a service like Upwork. Alternatively, if you’re focusing on your blogs, you’re going to use that blog as the script or outline for a podcast, YouTube video, or Facebook/IG Live. Now you can see how that one long-form piece of content has multiplied into two with very little extra effort. And since online marketing is so diverse, you’re giving yourself an advantage when you create content in different forms like audio, video, and visual.

Repurposing Video Content

Now you’re going to chop it up. Let’s start with video. Go into your long-form videos and pull out 60 - 90 second “mic drop moments” that can be posted as Reels on Instagram, Reels on Facebook, YouTube shorts, TikTok, and even Pinterest. Adding in closed-captioning and attention-grabbing graphics or GIPHS is a great way to help them pop and stand out to the person who is scrolling through. You can do this right within the app or by using a third party app.

Repurposing Written Content

For your blogs, you’re going to use the copy in all kinds of ways. Keeping it’s full length, you can post to platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn that allow for long captions. You can also send the whole thing, just updated a bit for voice and tone, as an email. Each paragraph or section can be used as a social media caption accompanied by a photo or graphic, or you can put that text directly into the graphic for a regular or Carousel post. Play with the length and formatting of the text to make dozens of different pieces of content! Why reinvent the wheel when you’ve already got this value-packed content created for you?

Why You Need to Start Repurposing Your Content Now

Saving time is definitely the most obvious and important benefit of repurposing. But there’s more! In marketing, you have to repeat yourself over and over in order to get peoples’ attention and keep it long enough to take action. If you feel like you’re repeating yourself, that’s GOOD. So when you literally use the same words in multiple places, you’re increasing your chances of getting noticed. You’re going to stand out to your audience as the go-to leader in your niche and there will be no question as to who to turn to for all things Young Living® and holistic living because you consistently post content in that category.

Make it Easy to Outsource Content Creation

There comes a time when you don’t want to do it all on your own anymore. Our advice is to outsource as soon as you can, and marketing content is a great way to do so. When you have long-form content that can be repurposed, it’s really easy for a freelancer to come in and work their magic while still staying true to your voice and tone because they are literally using your own words in new and creative ways. Head over to our Instagram page now to see how we put this practice to use! When you find a post that was repurposed from a blog, comment BLOG and we’ll know that you’re doing the work to make your Young Living® business thrive!
